Gobble Gobble

I'm going to share something new.  I always share my cards but have never shared any of my scrapbooking layouts.  I decided a little while ago that I was stressing too much about entering challenges and I chose to step back a little bit and post for fun.  Not nearly as many page views, but that isn't why I started this blog.  I went to a scrapbooking retreat this last weekend and had fun putting this page together.  It was of my sweet baby boy wearing the first onesie that I ever made.  I am really pleased with how it turned out!  Hope you enjoy!

Sweet Owl

I think I may have my new favorite card!  A few weeks ago this was a freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables. Isn't she cute!  I have been wanting to put this on a card ever since and I thought a Valentine's card for my mom would be perfect.  I used some paper from Daisy Bucket, I'm so sad that they are no longer around, and pulled out the Valentine Sayings set from Hero Arts.  A little distressing and some white ink and I was done!  I don't think I will ever get tired of owl cards, they are so cute!  Thanks for stopping by!

Love You Forever

So I decided I needed to start taking pictures of my cards again.  I have created some fun ones but didn't capture them and now I regret it.  I haven't created a card in awhile and I forgot how much I enjoy it!  This is a card I made for hubby for Valentine's Day.  I wanted something that could be considered a masculine card and was romantic at the same time.  Once again I used my Silhouette.  I was playing around with the sketch feature and was able to sketch this couple and the lamp.  I them pulled out this stamp set from Papertrey ink and added some Echo Park paper and I was done.  I love how it turned out!  Hope you enjoy!

Gamer Card

Well I figured that since it has been almost a year since I posted a card I would show you one that I put together tonight.  My son was going to a 13 year olds birthday party and he needed a card.  I forgot until the last minute so I pulled out my trusty Silhouette and this card came together in less than 15 minutes.  Not my best work but I think it's cute.  I took a quick shot of it and off to the birthday party we went.  I have created quite a few cards in the past year but I haven't taken out my camera to capture them.  Maybe that will be my New Years resolution! LOL.  I hope everyone has a great holiday season!

Time to PARTY!

Man I need to get in gear and do a few more posts! What better way than to party with the girls over at Market Street Stamps!  I missed last month's block party and something was just missing that month ;)  I decided to pull out my Gone Campin' set again.  Why would I do that in the middle of winter?  Because I love this stamp set so much!!!  I do have a few of their newer sets that I have to ink up but I just love this one and had to create a card with it.  This was my first attempt with copics.  Not the best work ever but I figure it is a good jumping off point.  Now I just need to practice, practice, practice!  Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge and Some Fun News!

I'm really checking in to share a card with you but I have to share my exciting news!  I just got my first request for a card for Paper Crafts Magazine!!!  I am so excited!  I will have a card in the July/August 2012 issue!!!  Have I put in enough exclamation marks?  :)  I was beginning to think it would never happen.  I am over the moon!!!

Okay now I will calm myself and tell you why I'm really here.  I made a card for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  The picture below is the inspiration and it is fantastic!  There are so many ways you could go with this!  I may have to make another card!  I just recently got my first few sets of Paper Smooches stamps and I LOVE how well they stamp.  The quality of the stamps are fantastic!

Anyhoo...here is the picture.

And here is my card.
I was playing around with the cute bear from the Chubby Chum Pals set and thought he would be cute with a little smooch on his cheek.  I pulled the red from the picture and the embossed heart background represents the polka dot wall in the picture.  Since Valentine's Day is coming up I thought this would be a great card for my daughter's teacher.  Hope you enjoy!

Noel

Have you ever had an idea for a card and when you tried to put the idea on cardstock you thought you were crazy?  Well that was me with this card.  I got the idea a while ago that I wanted to see if I could create a word like Joy or Noel with the Ornamental Vine stamp from DeNami.  When I saw the theme for this challenge I was excited to put my idea on paper.  I used the Water Lily stamp to create a poinsettia for the O in Noel (for a tutorial on how to do that go here) and then used my trusty Stamp-a-majig to do the rest of the work.  It took a while to get it just right but I am pleased with the end result.  I used Versmark to stamp the Ornamental Vine on the poinsettia and the background for a subtle finishing touch.  I won these two stamps awhile back from my friend Lisa and I am having so much fun with them!  Thanks for the blog candy Lisa!  Maybe one of these days I will use these stamps in a traditional way ;)  Thanks for stopping by!

I also wanted to enter this card in the Wee Memories challenge this week.  The theme is anything goes.  Sweet!  I love that theme!
